my first video blog

Thanks to Sarah and her Jumpsuit Friday vlogs, I've been inspired to make a video blog! I hope it entertains you a little bit. Topics include vlogging and what it feels like to talk to the camera, grad school, and big cookies. Thanks for watching!

p.s. If you've had trouble leaving comments lately, they should be fixed now! I could not figure out what was wrong with them, but they are magically better. So, comment away and I shall write you back!

You're adorable! I loved watching you. It makes you feel a little bit closer to me. ;)

Lately, I've dealt with stress by going to yoga once a week. It's seriously a new staple for me. If I go to a class early in the week it helps me be mindful of how I'm feeling for the rest of it. I love it.
I also hate waiting up early, still, but I feel so much better when I get up at 5 & go to the gym in the morning on the days I'm not yoga-ing or climbing.

Talking about what's going on & figuring out a plan to stay on track is always helpful too, and I know you've been doing a great job of that.

You made me really want a cookie, so I think I'll take care of that later today as well!

OMG so, so, so excited that you want to do a JSF Vlog!! I allow myself to sleep when I am stressed. Either going to bed early or not waking up as early as usual. Sleep is my stress answer for sure! I know some people can't sleep when they're stressed but I'm pretty much the complete opposite- I love to take a good stress nap!

Also might treat myself to a latte now and then.

I loved your very first Vlog! So cool to hear your voice! Thank you so much for the shout out too. I think you need to treat yourself to a jumpsuit to de-stress soon!

Hey Kristen! Thanks for sharing that! I have set a goal for myself to produce and edit a short video as a way of introducing myself on my website or Facebook (business) page (which is currently under construction) you've inspired me to make this reality!

As for dealing with stress...I too love a big 'ole chocolate chip cookie but I find that just turning everything off (except maybe music) and trying to unplug...maybe sitting quietly and reading or writing...really helps me. Sometimes technology (phone, calendar, email, etc) seems to add to the stress.

Anyway...take care of yourself and best wishes for the next 4.5 months you have left! Can't wait to see where you're headed! :)

Loved hearing your voice! Take 2 worked well, it seems.

I think a chocolate chip cookie and/or a decaf latte is what works for me. On my particularly hard days, I make it a point to go out to lunch somewhere I'd normally not go. I think this is a pregnancy thing, though!

Such a cute video! I too am writing my thesis this semester (I'm currently in stats hell at the moment). I've been letting myself have a girl's night on Mondays which helps me to not get overwhelmed at the beginning of the week. I've also considered stepping away from my computer for a bit tomorrow and doing something different. I need to break up the monotony! But we are both so close- we can (and will) make it! :)

Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping to do a vlog very soon. I like to drink soy lattes as a treat (which lately is every day since I discovered you can buy tazo chair at the grocery store). I also will pick up vegan brownies as a treat. As a healthy treat-I try to make it to a yoga class, or practice at home.
