12 days: christmas tv episodes

The Christmas task for Day 3 should have been eating the cookies I baked on Day 2. haha! Okay, but actually, it didn't require much more effort than that. If you thought all of my 12 days of Christmas were going to be amazing DIY projects, I hope this doesn't sound totally lazy: today I relaxed and watched a few Christmas episodes from shows I really like (while eating cookies).

First up was this week's episode of The Office. In my opinion it hasn't been as funny lately (actually, it hasn't been as funny since Jim and Pam got married....) but I was laughing out loud a lot during this year's Christmas episode, so maybe things are looking up.

The mood hasn't hit me to watch a Christmas movie yet, but that's on the agenda for this week. Some of my favorites are The Grinch (the Jim Carrey version), Elf, Home Alone, and The Santa Clause. What movie would you recommend?

p.s. I made this for you, dear readers:

Aww love your animation! I also enjoyed this week's office but no as much as the Parks and Rec. Christmas episode! Oh god, remember the Christmas office where Pam and Jim exchanged gifts in the Secret Santa back in season two? One of my favorite episodes of all time!

Cute animation! We don't have a TV anymore but we've still held on to the tradition of watching Elf which is probably my favorite and only favorite Xmas movie!

Sarah, I love that episode! I had forgotten about it. I'm going to have to watch it today! I am on season 2 of Parks and Rec now (since the first season was super short)! I'll probably get through an embarrassingly large number of episodes before my break is over.

Maeg, thanks! I love Elf too! Even though it is not very old, I think it was destined for Christmas-classic status from the beginning. I have never even seen some of the old classics like It's a Wonderful Life. 80s and 90s movies are sort of my favorite movies... :)

I do love "It's a Wonderful Life." When my parents were penniless and young, my dad recorded it for my mom as a Valentine's Day present and hid the VHS tape under the bed. She found it after he passed away. So of course every time I watch that movie, I seriously sob.

I don't know how much of a holiday movie this is but I love "Love, Actually." Makes me feel good.

Aw, Tamara, that is a really wonderful story! Maybe I will have to watch it this year.

I have heard a few others mention Love, Actually, so I will try to check that out as well!
